DK87-90 is a text corpus with samples from the years 1987-90. The size is 4 million running words. For each year 1 mio. words of text have been selected, consisting of samples from 100 new novels, 50 magazines and 50 newspapers. From each novel a chapter of about 5,000 words has been chosen, from each magazine and newspaper a range of larger and smaller contributions has been included, also amounting to an average of about 5,000 words each. So, the ratio between the three text types is as follows: novels and short stories 50%, newspapers 25% and magazines 25% of the total amount of text.
DK87-90 was compiled at the Aarhus School of Business with Henning Bergenholtz as project manager, and was later supplied with detailed textual information at DSL. Today, DK87-90 is administered by DSL.
DK87-90 is downloadable as a Semaskop module from the DSL website. The corpus module is to be installed in the same way as the corpus tool Semaskop. The corpus module is not functional until the corpus tool Semaskop has been installed. The order in which the different parts are installed is unimportant.
